# Enable location services for private health claims

Why HaltH asks for your location when you make a private health claim, and how to allow it in Chrome, Safari and Edge.

HaltH only needs your location when you make a **private health claim**. Health funds require claims to be made from the practice where the client was treated, so HaltH sends your device's location with each private health claim. Medicare, DVA and card payments don't need it.

If location is off, the checkout shows **Location required to process funding** and you can't submit the claim.

## 1\. Allow location in the checkout

When you add private health funding, the checkout shows a location toggle. Turn it on, and when your browser asks, choose **Allow while visiting this site** (or **Allow** in Safari).

If you previously blocked location, the browser won't ask again and the checkout shows a link to this article. Follow the steps for your browser below.

## 2\. Allow location in your browser

### Chrome on Mac or Windows

1. Paste `chrome://settings/content/location` into a new tab, or go to the three-dot menu → **Settings** → **Privacy and security** → **Site settings** → **Location**.

2. Under **Default behaviour**, select **Sites can ask for your location**.

3. Under **Not allowed to see your location**, if business.halth.com is listed, select the bin icon to remove it.

4. Reload HaltH and allow location when asked.

### Safari on Mac

1. With business.halth.com open, select **Safari** → **Settings** → **Websites** → **Location**.

2. Set business.halth.com to **Allow** (or **Ask**).

3. Reload the page.

### Edge on Mac or Windows

1. Go to the three-dot menu → **Settings** → **Cookies and site permissions** → **Location**.

2. Turn on **Ask before accessing** and remove business.halth.com from the **Block** list if it's there.

3. Reload HaltH and allow location when asked.

### iPhone or iPad

1. Open the **Settings** app → **Privacy & Security** → **Location Services** and make sure it's on.

2. In the same list, tap **Safari Websites** or **Chrome** (or the HaltH app) and choose **While Using the App**.

3. Go back to HaltH and allow location when asked.

### Chrome on Android

1. In Chrome, tap the three-dot menu → **Settings** → **Site settings** → **Location** and turn it on.

2. Open business.halth.com and allow location when asked.

## 3\. Check your computer's location settings

If you've allowed location in the browser but the setting keeps switching back, your computer may be blocking the browser.

- **Mac**: open **System Settings** → **Privacy & Security** → **Location Services**. Make sure it's on, and that your browser (for example Google Chrome) is turned on in the list.

- **Windows**: open **Settings** → **Privacy & security** → **Location**. Make sure location access is on and your browser is allowed.

Then quit and reopen your browser and try again.

## Troubleshooting

- **The browser never asks for location.** It's been blocked for this site. Remove business.halth.com from the blocked list (step 2), then reload.

- **Location keeps turning off.** Check your computer's settings (step 3). A work-managed computer may have location blocked by your IT provider.

- **Still stuck?** Try another browser, or chat with HaltH support.
