The HaltH platform integrates with Google Tag Manager (GTM) to help you track and analyse user interactions on your booking pages. This integration allows you to set up custom events and triggers for better marketing analytics and conversion tracking.

Step 1: Access Booking Settings

  1. Log into your HaltH business platform

  2. Navigate to Settings in the main menu

  3. Click on Bookings in the settings sidebar

  4. Select Booking form from the booking options

  5. Scroll down to find the Google Tag Manager section

Step 2: Configure GTM Container ID

  1. In the Google Tag Manager section, you'll see a form with a "GTM Container ID" field

  2. Enter your Google Tag Manager container ID in the format GTM-XXXXXXX

  3. Click Save to apply the changes

You can find your GTM Container ID in your Google Tag Manager dashboard. It's displayed in the top-right corner of the GTM interface.

Step 3: Setting Up GTM Triggers and Tags

Creating Custom Event Triggers

In your Google Tag Manager dashboard, you'll need to create custom triggers for these events:

HaltH Booking Start Trigger

  1. Go to Triggers in your GTM workspace

  2. Click New to create a new trigger

  3. Choose Custom Event as the trigger type

  4. Set the Event name to: halth_booking_start

  5. Name your trigger: "HaltH - Booking Start"

  6. Save the trigger

HaltH Booking Complete Trigger

  1. Go to Triggers in your GTM workspace

  2. Click New to create a new trigger

  3. Choose Custom Event as the trigger type

  4. Set the Event name to: purchase

  5. Name your trigger: "HaltH - Completed Booking"

  6. Save the trigger

Step 4: Creating Tags

You can now use these triggers to fire various tags:

Example: Google Analytics 4 Event Tag

  1. Go to Tags in your GTM workspace

  2. Click New to create a new tag

  3. Choose Google Analytics: GA4 Event as the tag type

  4. Configure your GA4 Measurement ID

  5. Set the Event Name to match the GTM event (e.g., "halth_booking_start" or "purchase")

  6. Add any custom parameters you want to track

  7. Set the Triggering to use your custom triggers created above

Testing Your Setup

Using GTM Preview Mode

  1. In Google Tag Manager, click Preview in the top-right corner

  2. Enter your booking page URL

  3. Navigate through the booking process

  4. Watch the Summary panel to see when your custom events fire:

  • halth_booking_start should fire when the page loads

  • purchase should fire when the booking is completed
